As a BIM Coordinator, you’ll play a pivotal role in clash detection, 3D modeling, and coordination between architects, engineers, and contractors. Your expertise will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibility
- Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems using industry-standard software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks).
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and contractors to identify and resolve clashes in designs before construction begins.
- Generate and manage BIM execution plans (BEP) and ensure compliance with project standards and client requirements.
- Conduct 4D (scheduling) and 5D (cost estimation) simulations to optimize project timelines and budgets.
- Prepare shop drawings, as-built models, and construction documentation for M&E systems.
- Facilitate BIM collaboration meetings to align stakeholders on model updates and design changes.
- Ensure all BIM deliverables meet local regulations, international standards (e.g., ISO 19650), and client specifications.
- Train and mentor junior team members on BIM best practices and software tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in BIM coordination, with a focus on M&E systems.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and BIM 360/Acc.
- Strong understanding of MEP systems, construction methodologies, and industry standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA).
- Experience with clash detection, model validation, and coordination workflows.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to liaise with multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with 4D/5D BIM applications is a plus.
- Certification in BIM (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional) is highly advantageous.
