Responsibility
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services for Shopeeâs big data infrastructure.
- Optimize data pipelines for high performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to enable real-time and batch data processing.
- Implement security best practices to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Automate infrastructure deployment using CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive solutions.
- Research and integrate emerging technologies (e.g., Kafka, Spark, Kubernetes) to enhance platform capabilities.
- Document technical designs, workflows, and operational procedures for team alignment.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs or Masterâs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (graduating in 2027).
- Strong proficiency in Python, Java, or Go for backend development.
- Experience with distributed systems, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Familiarity with big data tools (Hadoop, Spark, Flink) and data warehousing solutions.
- Understanding of scalability, fault tolerance, and system design principles.
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on performance optimization and efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in agile, cross-functional teams.
