Responsibility
- Operational Leadership: Oversee end-to-end Islamic banking operations, ensuring compliance with Shariah principles and regulatory requirements.
- Digital Transformation: Spearhead initiatives to automate and optimize processes, leveraging technology to improve efficiency and reduce operational risks.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with IT, product, and compliance teams to align systems with business objectives and customer needs.
- Process Improvement: Identify gaps in current workflows and implement scalable solutions to enhance service delivery and cost-effectiveness.
- Risk & Compliance: Ensure all operations adhere to Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) guidelines and internal Shariah governance frameworks.
- Team Development: Mentor and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Performance Metrics: Define and monitor KPIs to measure operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and digital adoption.
- Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with third-party providers, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Islamic Banking, or related fields. A postgraduate degree or professional certification (e.g., CIBIF, CFA) is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years in Islamic banking operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in banking systems (e.g., core banking software), data analytics tools, and digital transformation frameworks.
- Shariah Knowledge: Deep understanding of Islamic finance principles, including Mudarabah, Wakalah, and Tawarruq structures.
- Regulatory Acumen: Familiarity with BNM guidelines, IFSA (Islamic Financial Services Act), and Shariah Advisory Council (SAC) resolutions.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive change in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written English skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
