Responsibility
- Master and prepare audio files for vinyl pressing, ensuring optimal sound quality and compatibility.
- Operate and maintain high-end audio equipment, including analog and digital mastering tools.
- Collaborate with artists and producers to achieve the desired sonic characteristics for each project.
- Conduct quality control checks on pressed vinyl to identify and resolve any audio defects.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to audio production, playback systems, and manufacturing processes.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in audio engineering and vinyl production.
- Document and archive audio files, mastering notes, and production specifications for future reference.
- Assist in the setup and calibration of studio equipment to meet project requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Sound Production, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in audio mastering, preferably with a focus on vinyl production.
- Proficiency in DAWs (e.g., Pro Tools, Ableton, Logic Pro) and analog audio equipment.
- Strong understanding of audio signal processing, EQ, compression, and vinyl-specific mastering techniques.
- Exceptional listening skills with the ability to detect subtle audio imperfections.
- Knowledge of vinyl pressing processes and the technical limitations of the medium.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results under deadlines.
