Lidl & Kaufland Asia is seeking an experienced Assistant Product Development Manager / Senior Product Developer (Menswear) to join our dynamic team in Pasir Panjang. In this pivotal role, you will bridge the gap between design concepts and final production, ensuring that our menswear collections meet the highest standards of quality, cost-efficiency, and style.
You will work closely with our Senior Product Development Manager to oversee the end-to-end development process. From initial tech packs and material sourcing to sample approval and final fit refinement, your technical expertise will be instrumental in driving the commercial success of our seasonal lines. Responsibility
- Collaborate with the design team to interpret seasonal concepts into technically viable production-ready tech packs.
- Manage the end-to-end product development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to the critical path and shipment timelines.
- Coordinate closely with regional vendors and suppliers to ensure technical accuracy, quality, and timely sample submission.
- Conduct thorough fit sessions, evaluate sample quality, and provide actionable technical comments to improve garment construction.
- Monitor and manage cost negotiations for fabrics, trims, and manufacturing, ensuring alignment with target margins.
- Identify and resolve production challenges related to garment fit, material performance, and manufacturing techniques.
- Support the Senior Product Development Manager in strategic initiatives to optimize development workflows and increase department efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in product development, specifically within menswear retail.
- Deep understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and fabric characteristics.
- Proven ability to manage technical documentation, including detailed tech packs and BOMs.
- Experience in managing supplier relationships and navigating global sourcing challenges.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, PLM software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical mindset with a sharp eye for detail and the ability to troubleshoot complex production issues.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively across cross-functional teams and international stakeholders.
