The National University of Singapore (NUS) is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Manager / Manager (Research Cluster Finance) to join our team in Bali, Indonesia. Responsibility
- Oversee and manage financial operations for assigned research clusters, including budget preparation, monitoring, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with university policies, donor requirements, and regulatory standards for research funding.
- Collaborate with principal investigators, faculty, and administrative staff to align financial planning with research objectives.
- Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and analyses to senior management and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and address findings.
- Develop and implement financial processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy in research finance.
- Provide guidance and training to research staff on financial policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Support grant application processes, including budget development and post-award financial management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is a plus.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or research administration, preferably in an academic or research institution.
- Strong knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and reporting in a research or higher education context.
- Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and Microsoft Excel (advanced level).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearly.
- Experience with grant management, compliance, and audit processes is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with research funding agencies and their financial reporting requirements is an advantage.
