Responsibility
- Execute daily Mise en Place preparation according to the production plan, ensuring all ingredients are ready at least 3 days in advance where required.
- Prepare, season, and cook a variety of high-quality meals while adhering to standardized hospital recipes and dietary requirements.
- Maintain impeccable standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area, ensuring full compliance with HACCP and safety guidelines.
- Monitor inventory levels, report shortages, and assist in managing food waste to optimize kitchen resources.
- Collaborate with the dietary department to cater to special medical diet requirements for patients.
- Ensure that all culinary equipment is handled safely, sanitized regularly, and maintained in excellent working condition.
- Assist in the training of junior kitchen staff and provide support to the Head Chef during peak operational hours.
Qualifications
- Possess a relevant qualification in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related field.
- Minimum 1-3 years of professional cooking experience (levels will be adjusted based on experience).
- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene protocols, and sanitation standards.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to follow complex production plans and timelines.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Ability to work on a rotating shift basis, including weekends and public holidays.
