Are you a seasoned professional with a passion for venture building and academic innovation? Nanyang Technological University (NTU), through its innovation and enterprise arm, NTUitive, is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Assistant Director of Portfolio Management to join our dynamic team.

You will be responsible for overseeing the governance, regulatory compliance, and commercial growth of a diverse portfolio of deep-tech and academic spinoffs. Responsibility
- Develop and execute comprehensive portfolio management strategies to ensure the long-term sustainability of NTU-affiliated startups.
- Provide expert guidance on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management frameworks for early-stage companies.
- Monitor the financial and operational performance of portfolio companies, providing regular reporting to senior leadership.
- Act as a key liaison between startup founders, internal faculty researchers, and external investment partners.
- Identify and implement value-add initiatives to support portfolio company growth, including mentorship and networking opportunities.
- Oversee due diligence processes for equity monitoring and exit strategy planning.
- Ensure alignment between portfolio activities and NTU’s broader innovation and commercialization goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s or MBA is highly preferred.
- Minimum 8-10 years of professional experience in venture capital, portfolio management, investment banking, or startup operations.
- Strong grasp of intellectual property rights, licensing agreements, and equity structures.
- Proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes in an academic or research-intensive environment.
- Excellent financial modeling and analytical skills, with a track record of data-driven decision-making.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, capable of influencing senior-level stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of the Singapore startup ecosystem and relevant government grant frameworks.
