Responsibility
- Assist the head chef in preparing and cooking authentic Chinese dishes, including stir-fries, soups, dim sum, and noodle dishes.
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and prepared according to recipes and food safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace in compliance with hygiene regulations.
- Follow standardized recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency in taste and presentation.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to the kitchen manager.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during peak hours.
- Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines.
- Assist in the development of new menu items and seasonal specials.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a cook, preferably in a Chinese or Asian cuisine restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with wok cooking.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices (certification is a plus).
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under minimal supervision.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 kg.
