Responsibility
- Lead and supervise the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of plastic injection molds to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to extend mold lifespan and reduce operational disruptions.
- Collaborate with production teams to diagnose mold-related issues and provide timely, cost-effective solutions.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality checks on molds to identify wear, defects, or potential failures before they impact production.
- Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications in compliance with company and industry standards.
- Train and mentor junior technicians on best practices for mold maintenance, safety protocols, and technical procedures.
- Coordinate with external vendors for specialized mold repairs, upgrades, or component replacements when necessary.
- Optimize mold performance by recommending design improvements or material adjustments to enhance efficiency and product quality.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mold maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role in plastic injection molding environments.
- Proven expertise in mold design, repair, and troubleshooting for high-precision manufacturing processes.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and CNC machining as they relate to mold maintenance.
- Proficiency in using measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) and diagnostic equipment to assess mold conditions.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for mold analysis and modification planning.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Certification in mold maintenance, injection molding, or a related technical field is a plus.
