Responsibility
- Assist the Head Buyer in the allocation of incoming shipments based on stock turn performance and subcategory analysis, ensuring optimal inventory levels.
- Monitor and analyze sales data, market trends, and consumer behavior to identify opportunities for product assortment and inventory optimization.
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules, ensuring cost-effective and timely procurement of children's products.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring high-quality products and reliable supply chains.
- Prepare regular reports on inventory performance, sales trends, and market insights to support data-driven decision-making.
- Work closely with the marketing and sales teams to align purchasing strategies with promotional campaigns and seasonal demands.
- Assist in the development of quarterly and annual buying plans, including budgeting and forecasting for the children's category.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging products to ensure Sketch Books Inc. remains a leader in the children's retail space.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in retail buying, merchandising, or inventory management, preferably in the children's or consumer products sector.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and financial reports.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and inventory management software.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for children's products and a keen eye for market trends.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote or hybrid work environment.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
