Responsibility
- Assist the Head Buyer in the allocation of incoming shipments based on stock turn performance and subcategory trends.
- Monitor and analyze sales data to identify best-selling products and areas for improvement within the children's category.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging products.
- Prepare and present reports on inventory levels, sales performance, and market insights to the buying team.
- Coordinate with the marketing and sales teams to align product assortments with promotional campaigns.
- Ensure timely and accurate placement of purchase orders while maintaining budgetary guidelines.
- Participate in product selection meetings and provide recommendations based on data-driven insights.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Retail Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in buying, merchandising, or retail, preferably in the children's category.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for vendor and stakeholder interactions.
- Detail-oriented with a strong ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and retail software is a plus.
- Passion for children's products, education, and trends in the consumer market.
