Responsibility
- Supervise and coordinate daily cashiering operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional customer service.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate cashiering staff to maintain high performance and adherence to company standards.
- Monitor cash handling procedures, including opening/closing registers, reconciling daily transactions, and reporting discrepancies.
- Implement and enforce cashiering policies, SOPs, and compliance with financial controls to minimize errors and fraud risks.
- Resolve customer complaints or escalations related to checkout processes in a professional and timely manner.
- Collaborate with the Branch Manager to analyze sales data, identify trends, and recommend improvements for cashiering workflows.
- Ensure all POS systems, scanners, and payment terminals are functional, and coordinate IT support for technical issues.
- Assist in inventory management at checkout points, including tracking promotional items, discounts, and stock levels.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; or equivalent work experience in retail management.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cashiering, retail operations, or a supervisory role within a grocery/retail environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with a proven ability to train and motivate staff.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills to handle financial reports, cash reconciliations, and sales data.
- Proficiency in POS systems, Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and basic accounting software.
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills to address customer and staff concerns effectively.
- High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced retail setting.
- Familiarity with inventory management and retail compliance standards is a plus.
