Responsibility
- Manage and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable (AR) claims using EPIC software.
- Investigate and resolve claim denials, appeals, and underpayments to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Collaborate with payers, providers, and internal teams to address billing discrepancies and compliance issues.
- Analyze AR aging reports and prioritize high-value claims for resolution.
- Document all follow-up activities and maintain accurate records in EPIC and other systems.
- Identify trends in denials and recommend process improvements to reduce future occurrences.
- Ensure adherence to healthcare billing regulations and company policies.
- Provide regular updates to management on AR status and recovery efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in AR follow-up, medical billing, or revenue cycle management.
- Proficiency in EPIC software and other healthcare billing systems.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for interacting with payers and providers.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while meeting deadlines.
- Certification in medical billing (e.g., CPB, CPC) is a plus.
