Responsibility
- Prepare and distribute patient meals according to dietary requirements and schedules.
- Manage ward pantry inventory, including stocking, organizing, and restocking food and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and food handling standards in all service areas.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of ward kitchens, dining areas, and storage spaces.
- Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to address patient meal preferences and special requests.
- Monitor and record food consumption and waste to optimize resource allocation.
- Support ward operations by assisting with non-clinical tasks such as transporting supplies or equipment.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and healthcare team members.
Qualifications
- Minimum secondary education or equivalent; certification in food handling or healthcare support is a plus.
- Prior experience in food service, hospitality, or healthcare support roles is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict hygiene and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Physical stamina to stand, lift, and move for extended periods.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team and adapt to changing priorities in a healthcare setting.
- Basic knowledge of dietary restrictions and special meal preparations is advantageous.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or public holidays as required.
