job description
Join Google as a Technical Program Manager (TPM) specializing in Global Network Acquisition and Longhaul Planning, and drive the future of global connectivity. In this high-impact role, you’ll lead cross-functional engineering initiatives to expand and optimize Google’s global network infrastructure, ensuring seamless, high-performance connectivity across regions.
Based in Bali, Indonesia (with flexibility to work from key hubs like Canggu, Ubud, or Denpasar), you’ll collaborate with network engineers, vendors, and stakeholders to design, negotiate, and deploy longhaul fiber and network solutions. Your expertise will shape Google’s ability to deliver lightning-fast, reliable services to billions of users worldwide.
This is a rare opportunity to combine technical leadership, strategic planning, and global collaboration in one of the world’s most innovative tech companies. If you thrive in dynamic environments and want to solve complex infrastructure challenges at scale, we’d love to hear from you.
Responsibility

- Collaborate with network engineering, legal, and finance teams to assess feasibility, risks, and cost-efficiency of network expansion opportunities.
- Develop and execute strategic roadmaps for longhaul network growth, aligning with Google’s global infrastructure goals.
- Drive cross-functional alignment between internal stakeholders (e.g., Product, Operations) and external partners (e.g., ISPs, carriers).
- Monitor and optimize network performance metrics (latency, bandwidth, reliability) and proactively address bottlenecks.
- Manage budgets, timelines, and resource allocation for large-scale network projects, ensuring on-time delivery.
- Identify and mitigate technical and regulatory risks in international network deployments.
- Champion innovation in network technologies, evaluating emerging solutions (e.g., subsea cables, wireless backhaul) to enhance Google’s infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in technical program management, network engineering, or telecommunications, with a focus on fiber optics, longhaul networks, or global infrastructure.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale, cross-functional projects from conception to deployment.
- Deep understanding of network architectures (e.g., DWDM, MPLS, SDN) and vendor ecosystems (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Ciena).
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with experience working with carriers, ISPs, and regulatory bodies.
- Familiarity with contract law, compliance, and international telecom regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and adapt to evolving priorities.
