Responsibility
- Manage and oversee tax compliance for Australian clients, including GST, BAS, and income tax filings.
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB).
- Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services to minimize liabilities and optimize financial performance.
- Liaise with Australian accounting firms, auditors, and regulatory bodies to resolve tax-related queries.
- Develop and implement efficient accounting processes and internal controls for client portfolios.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing procedures, including reconciliations and reporting.
- Stay updated on changes in Australian tax legislation and advise clients on implications.
- Mentor and supervise junior accountants, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to deadlines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CA qualification is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in tax accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Proven experience working with Australian accounting firms or handling Australian client accounts.
- In-depth knowledge of Australian tax laws, GST, BAS, and AASB standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating with international teams.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal) is mandatory.
