Responsibility
- Conceptualize and produce engaging short-form video content (Reels, TikToks) that translates complex news into digestible social stories.
- Monitor social media platforms and digital trends to identify breaking news and viral opportunities in real-time.
- Write punchy, SEO-optimized headlines and captions that drive clicks and meaningful social interaction.
- Manage community engagement across multiple platforms to foster a loyal and active digital audience.
- Collaborate with multimedia editors and reporters to transform long-form journalism into platform-native social content.
- Analyze social media metrics to track performance and pivot content strategies for maximum reach and engagement.
- Conduct on-camera reporting or digital interviews as required for special coverage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in digital media, social media management, or news reporting.
- Exceptional storytelling skills with a strong command of short-form video editing tools (e.g., CapCut, Premiere Rush).
- Deep knowledge of current pop culture, social media trends, and digital content best practices.
- Proven ability to distill complex information into creative, accurate, and concise social media content.
- Strong editorial judgment and familiarity with media law and journalistic ethics.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, deadline-driven newsroom environment.
