As a Transformer Maintenance Specialist, you will lead comprehensive diagnostic, preventive, and corrective maintenance programs for power transformers, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with international standards (IEEE, IEC). Your role will involve hands-on technical work, strategic planning, and mentoring junior engineers in a fast-paced, safety-first environment.
Based in Denpasar/Badung, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime, extend asset lifespan, and implement cutting-edge predictive maintenance technologies. Responsibility
- Conduct advanced diagnostics on power transformers using tools like DGA (Dissolved Gas Analysis), FRA (Frequency Response Analysis), and insulation resistance testing.
- Develop and execute preventive maintenance plans to maximize transformer efficiency and longevity.
- Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for transformer failures, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Oversee on-site inspections, load testing, and thermal imaging to assess equipment health.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols (OSHA, NFPA 70E) and local/regional electrical codes.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians on transformer maintenance best practices.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to source high-quality replacement parts and materials.
- Document all maintenance activities, generate technical reports, and recommend upgrades or replacements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., P.E., CMRP) is a plus.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in transformer maintenance, with at least 3 years in a senior/specialist role.
- In-depth knowledge of power transformer designs (oil-filled, dry-type, cast resin) and auxiliary systems (cooling, protection).
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools (e.g., Megger, OMICRON, Doble) and interpreting test results.
- Strong understanding of high-voltage switching, grounding systems, and substation operations.
- Experience with predictive maintenance technologies (IoT sensors, AI-driven analytics) is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Willingness to travel to client sites across Bali and occasionally to other Indonesian regions.
