Responsibility
- Tax Compliance Management: Oversee and ensure timely, accurate tax filings (VAT, corporate tax, withholding tax, etc.) across SEA markets in compliance with local and international regulations.
- Audit Coordination: Lead tax audits, liaise with external auditors, and resolve discrepancies to minimize risk and ensure full compliance.
- Strategic Tax Planning: Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies to optimize the company’s financial position while adhering to legal requirements.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with finance, legal, and regional teams to align tax operations with business objectives and regulatory changes.
- Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Identify potential tax risks, propose solutions, and implement controls to safeguard the organization.
- Process Improvement: Streamline tax reporting processes, leverage automation tools, and enhance documentation for efficiency and accuracy.
- Regulatory Monitoring: Stay updated on evolving tax laws and regulations in SEA, providing proactive guidance to the business.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present tax-related reports, forecasts, and insights to senior management for informed decision-making.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CA, CTA) is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years in tax operations, compliance, or advisory, with at least 2 years in a senior or regional role covering SEA markets.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in tax software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Thomson Reuters) and advanced Excel for financial modeling and analysis.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of SEA tax laws, treaties, and reporting standards (e.g., Indonesian tax regulations, Singapore GST, Malaysian SST).
- Analytical Abilities: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex tax data and provide actionable recommendations.
- Communication: Excellent English proficiency (written and verbal) with the ability to explain tax concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects, mentor junior team members, and drive process improvements.
- Soft Skills: High attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
