Responsibility
- Prepare and review tax returns for New Zealand clients, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
- Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services to minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial outcomes.
- Conduct tax research and stay updated on changes in tax legislation to ensure accurate and compliant tax filings.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to gather necessary financial information and documentation.
- Manage tax audits and resolve any tax-related issues or disputes with tax authorities.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing exceptional service and support.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Mentor and train junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CA, CPA) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on New Zealand tax laws and regulations.
- Strong knowledge of tax compliance, tax planning, and tax advisory services.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience working remotely or in a virtual team environment is a plus.
