Responsibility
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems for Google Pay & Wallet, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, prioritize, and deliver new features that enhance user experience and business growth.
- Optimize payment processing pipelines to reduce latency and improve transaction success rates.
- Implement robust fraud detection and prevention mechanisms to safeguard user data and financial transactions.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in languages such as Java, Go, or Python.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical best practices, code reviews, and architectural decisions.
- Stay ahead of industry trends in fintech, blockchain, and digital wallets to drive innovation.
- Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 reliability of critical payment systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 5+ years of software development experience, with a focus on backend systems, distributed computing, or financial technology.
- Proficiency in Java, Go, Python, or C++ and experience with large-scale systems.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design principles.
- Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS), microservices, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with payment systems, security protocols (PCI DSS, OAuth), or cryptography is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex, production-level issues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a global, remote team.
