Responsibility

  • Conduct daily risk monitoring of securities business activities, including trading, settlement, and compliance with regulatory frameworks (e.g., MAS, SEC, or local equivalents).
  • Develop and implement risk management policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate operational, market, credit, and liquidity risks.
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative risk assessments using advanced analytical tools and models to identify potential exposures.
  • Prepare and present risk reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key trends, anomalies, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Trading, Compliance, Legal) to ensure alignment with risk appetite and business objectives.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and industry best practices, ensuring the firm’s risk framework remains current and effective.
  • Lead incident investigations and root-cause analyses for risk breaches or near-misses, proposing corrective actions.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on risk awareness, controls, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field; Master’s or professional certifications (e.g., FRM, PRM, CFA) are a plus.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in risk management within the securities, banking, or financial services sector.
  • Deep understanding of securities markets, trading operations, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., MiFID, Dodd-Frank, or local equivalents).
  • Proficient in risk modeling tools (e.g., Moody’s Analytics, RiskMetrics) and data analysis (SQL, Python, Excel).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to translate complex risk data into actionable insights.
  • Experience in designing and implementing risk controls for front, middle, or back-office functions.
  • Familiarity with ISO 31000, Basel III, or other risk management standards is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, international environment with a proactive and detail-oriented approach.
