Responsibility
- Design, optimize, and deploy Radio Access Network (RAN) solutions for 4G/5G networks, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Collaborate with network planning and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex RAN-related issues, minimizing downtime and improving user experience.
- Conduct site surveys, capacity planning, and interference analysis to enhance network coverage and quality.
- Develop and implement RAN automation and self-optimizing network (SON) strategies to improve efficiency and reduce manual interventions.
- Work closely with vendors and internal stakeholders to evaluate and integrate new RAN technologies, including Open RAN and cloud-native architectures.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements to ensure Globeâs RAN solutions remain competitive and compliant.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field (Masterâs degree is a plus).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in RAN engineering, with a focus on 4G/5G network design, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with RAN equipment from vendors like Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, or Samsung, including configuration, performance tuning, and fault management.
- Proficiency in RAN planning tools (e.g., Atoll, Planet, TEMS) and network monitoring systems (e.g., NetAct, PRTG, SolarWinds).
- Strong understanding of wireless protocols (LTE, NR, VoLTE, VoNR) and network architectures (E-UTRAN, NG-RAN, Open RAN).
- Experience with cloud-native RAN, virtualization (NFV), and software-defined networking (SDN) is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Fluency in English; additional languages (e.g., Filipino, Indonesian) are a plus.
