job description

Join Hovid, a leader in pharmaceutical and high-precision engineering, as a Senior Project Engineer in the vibrant heart of Bali, Indonesia. This is a unique opportunity to drive technical excellence in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems while contributing to cutting-edge projects in controlled environments.

In this role, you will oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of process systems for pharmaceutical facilities, ensuring compliance with international standards (GMP, ISO, FDA). Your expertise will shape high-precision infrastructure that powers innovation in healthcare and biotechnology.

Based in Canggu—a hub for digital nomads and professionals—you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, leverage advanced engineering tools, and deliver solutions that redefine industry benchmarks. Whether you’re refining HVAC systems for cleanrooms or integrating automation into utility networks, your work will have a tangible impact on global health outcomes.

Hovid offers a competitive salary, career growth in a dynamic sector, and the chance to live and work in one of the world’s most sought-after destinations.

Responsibility

  • Lead the design, development, and commissioning of MEP systems for pharmaceutical and high-precision facilities, ensuring adherence to GMP, ISO 14644, and FDA guidelines.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and regulatory bodies to integrate process utilities (HVAC, piping, electrical) into facility layouts.
  • Conduct risk assessments and feasibility studies for new projects, identifying cost-effective and scalable engineering solutions.
  • Oversee vendor selection, procurement, and installation of specialized equipment, ensuring compliance with technical specifications.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including P&IDs, PFDs, and as-built drawings, using CAD and BIM software.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and quality standards, mitigating risks to deliver on-time, within-scope results.
  • Provide technical training and mentorship to junior engineers and on-site teams on system operations and troubleshooting.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies in pharmaceutical engineering (e.g., modular cleanrooms, IoT-enabled utilities) and propose innovations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. PE/P.Eng. certification is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in MEP design or process engineering for pharmaceutical, biotech, or semiconductor industries.
  • Proven track record in project management (PMP certification preferred) for large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Deep knowledge of GMP, ISO 14644, cGMP, and FDA 21 CFR regulations for controlled environments.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, or similar tools for system modeling and simulation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in root-cause analysis (RCA) and failure mode analysis (FMEA).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to liaise with global teams and clients.
  • Willingness to relocate to Bali (work permit sponsorship available for qualified candidates).
