Responsibility
- Lead the full product development lifecycle, from conceptual design to mass production, ensuring alignment with technical and business objectives.
- Design and optimize mechanical components and systems for electronic products, using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Develop and test prototypes, iterating based on performance data and feedback to refine designs.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers, manufacturers, and suppliers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electronic systems.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to evaluate design viability and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee manufacturing processes, including tooling, assembly, and quality control, to ensure products meet specifications.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement in product design and functionality.
- Prepare and present technical documentation, including drawings, BOMs, and reports for stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs or Masterâs degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; professional certification (e.g., P.E.) is a plus.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development, preferably in the electronics or consumer goods industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) and FEA analysis tools.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (injection molding, CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, etc.).
- Experience with DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a data-driven approach to design optimization.
- Familiarity with industry standards (ISO, UL, CE) and regulatory compliance for electronic products.
- Strong communication and project management skills to lead cross-functional teams effectively.
