Responsibility
- Lead and manage strategic aerospace research and development projects from conception to execution, ensuring alignment with national and global industry goals.
- Collaborate with government agencies, academic institutions, and industry partners to foster innovation and secure funding for aerospace initiatives.
- Develop and implement long-term roadmaps for aerospace technology advancement, including sustainability, digitalization, and next-gen aviation solutions.
- Oversee budget planning, resource allocation, and risk management for high-impact aerospace programmes.
- Mentor and guide a multidisciplinary team of researchers, engineers, and scientists to deliver groundbreaking results.
- Represent A*STAR and SAPO at international conferences, workshops, and stakeholder meetings to promote Singapore’s aerospace leadership.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and global best practices to ensure SAPO remains at the forefront of aerospace innovation.
- Prepare and present progress reports, white papers, and policy recommendations to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s or PhD is highly advantageous.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in aerospace R&D, programme management, or a related technical leadership role (for Senior Manager). 5+ years for Manager-level candidates.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale aerospace projects, including budget oversight, team management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong understanding of aerospace industry trends, regulatory frameworks, and emerging technologies (e.g., UAVs, sustainable aviation, AI in aerospace).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience working with government agencies, international partners, or research institutions is a plus.
- Strategic thinker with analytical problem-solving skills and a results-driven mindset.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings, conferences, or site visits (as required).
