Responsibility
- Lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components for high-tech applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, software, and manufacturing engineers, to integrate mechanical designs into holistic product solutions.
- Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and prototyping to validate design concepts and optimize performance, cost, and manufacturability.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence within the team.
- Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions for mechanical design issues, ensuring product reliability and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and engineering change orders (ECOs).
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, materials, and industry trends to incorporate best practices into mechanical design processes.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) activities, including design reviews, DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), and design for manufacturing (DFM) assessments.
Qualifications
- Bachelorās or Masterās degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in mechanical design, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or staff-level role.
- Proven expertise in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or PTC Creo) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL).
- Strong background in designing mechanical systems for aerospace, defense, industrial automation, or similar high-tech industries.
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA), thermal analysis, and structural integrity assessments.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, injection molding, and additive manufacturing (3D printing).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead technical discussions with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Experience working in a global or multicultural environment is a plus.
