Responsibility
- Design, deploy, and optimize edge network architectures to ensure low-latency, high-availability connectivity for ByteDanceâs global platforms.
- Develop and maintain scalable CDN and caching solutions to enhance content delivery performance.
- Collaborate with cloud and DevOps teams to integrate edge computing with existing infrastructure.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network performance issues using advanced analytics and automation tools.
- Evaluate and implement emerging networking technologies (e.g., 5G, SD-WAN, SASE) to improve efficiency and security.
- Lead cross-regional network capacity planning and traffic engineering to support rapid growth.
- Automate network provisioning and configuration management using Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
- Document network designs, policies, and best practices for global teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs or Masterâs degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on edge computing, CDN, or cloud networking.
- Deep expertise in TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, and load balancing (e.g., Nginx, Envoy).
- Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and hybrid cloud environments.
- Proficiency in scripting/automation (Python, Go) and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools.
- Strong understanding of network security principles (firewalls, DDoS mitigation, zero-trust models).
- Experience with containerization (Kubernetes, Docker) and microservices architectures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, global team.
