Responsibility
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to process structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
- Optimize data infrastructure for performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability using cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and big data tools (Spark, Kafka, Airflow).
- Collaborate with Data Scientists and Analysts to ensure data accessibility and quality for analytics and machine learning models.
- Implement data governance and security best practices to protect sensitive information and comply with regulations.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, ensuring 99.9% uptime and minimal latency for real-time applications.
- Automate manual data processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational overhead.
- Document data architecture, workflows, and best practices for knowledge sharing across teams.
- Stay updated on emerging data engineering trends (e.g., real-time analytics, data mesh) and recommend adoption strategies.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with a focus on building scalable data pipelines.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Scala/Java for data processing and transformation.
- Hands-on experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Flink) and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and ETL/ELT tools (Airflow, dbt, Talend).
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines for data workflows.
- Familiarity with data modeling (star schema, data vault) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders and document processes.
- Bonus: Experience in insurance/fintech or knowledge of machine learning pipelines.
