Responsibility
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
- Prepare and review financial statements (P&L, balance sheets, cash flow) in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AAS).
- Utilize MYOB and Xero to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure data integrity.
- Assist with payroll processing, BAS lodgments, and GST reporting for Australian clients.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in financial workflows.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive financial information.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping, with a focus on Australian clients or AU accounting practices.
- Proficiency in MYOB (mandatory) and Xero (highly preferred).
- Strong understanding of double-entry accounting, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
- Experience with payroll systems and BAS/GST lodgments is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting with minimal supervision.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal) for client communication.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
