Responsibility
- Provide Level 3 application support for Oracle-based systems, diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues.
- Analyze PL/SQL code, database queries, and application logs to identify root causes of incidents.
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to implement permanent fixes and performance improvements.
- Monitor system health, proactively identifying potential risks before they impact production.
- Meet and exceed SLA targets for incident resolution and response times.
- Document troubleshooting steps, knowledge base articles, and best practices for future reference.
- Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 coverage for critical systems.
- Mentor junior support engineers and share expertise to elevate team capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in application support, with a focus on Oracle PL/SQL.
- Strong proficiency in SQL tuning, debugging, and database administration.
- Experience with incident management tools (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow) and ITIL processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in high-stakes environments.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python) is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to articulate technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Certifications in Oracle Database or related technologies are highly desirable.
