Responsibility
- Design and execute field trials to test new cultivation techniques, fertilizers, and pest management strategies for Durian crops.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret agronomic data to assess crop performance, disease resistance, and yield optimization.
- Develop and implement innovative farming practices to improve Durian quality, flavor, and marketability.
- Collaborate with local farmers and agricultural cooperatives to disseminate research findings and train stakeholders on best practices.
- Monitor environmental and climatic factors affecting crop health and adapt cultivation methods accordingly.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on research outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay updated on global agricultural trends and integrate emerging technologies (e.g., precision farming, IoT sensors) into research.
- Ensure compliance with sustainability standards and regulatory requirements in tropical fruit production.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Science, or Agricultural Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in agricultural research, with a focus on tropical fruit cultivation (Durian experience is a plus).
- Proven track record in field trial design, data analysis, and crop performance evaluation.
- Strong knowledge of soil science, pest/disease management, and irrigation systems.
- Proficiency in agricultural software (e.g., GIS, crop modeling tools) and data analysis tools (Excel, R, Python).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills to work with farmers, researchers, and industry partners.
- Ability to work in outdoor field conditions and travel to remote plantation sites in Bali.
- Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia; additional local dialects are advantageous.
