Responsibility
- Assist the Chief Officer and Master in the safe navigation and operation of the vessel.
- Oversee the vessel's Dynamic Positioning System (DPS) and ensure its proper functioning.
- Monitor and maintain the vessel's safety and security systems in compliance with international maritime regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of navigation equipment and life-saving appliances.
- Supervise and train junior officers and crew members on board.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of the vessel's operations and activities.
- Participate in emergency drills and ensure readiness for any contingencies.
- Coordinate with port authorities and other stakeholders for smooth vessel operations.
Qualifications
- Valid DPO Unlimited or Limited License.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Second Officer or similar role on offshore vessels.
- STCW certification and other relevant maritime qualifications.
- Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in challenging environments.
- Proficient in the use of navigation and communication equipment.
- Willingness to travel and work on a rotational basis.
