Tunas Tuju Asa is seeking an empathetic and proactive School Counselor for the Secondary Level to join our team for the 2026-2027 Academic Year. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the socio-emotional development of our students, providing guidance that empowers them to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
As a key member of our student support department, you will bridge the gap between academic achievement and personal growth. You will work closely with school leadership, faculty, and families to implement comprehensive counseling programs, manage student mental health initiatives, and ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, highly organized, and capable of navigating the complex challenges faced by secondary students in a modern educational landscape.
Responsibility
- Develop and implement school-wide counseling programs to support social-emotional, academic, and career growth.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to address student behavioral, emotional, and academic needs.
- Collaborate with teachers and school administration to design intervention strategies for students with diverse learning styles.
- Facilitate parent-teacher conferences to discuss student progress, behavioral goals, and strategies for home support.
- Lead workshops and seminars on mental health, bullying prevention, and digital citizenship for the student body.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records of counseling interactions and student intervention progress.
- Serve as a liaison between the school and external psychological services when necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Educational Counseling, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a School Counselor or in a student-facing support role within an educational setting.
- Strong command of English, both written and spoken, to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of adolescent development and secondary education pedagogical frameworks.
- Proven ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion, professionalism, and high ethical standards.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple student cases simultaneously.
