Responsibility
- Assist in the screening of transactions, customers, and counterparties against international sanctions lists (e.g., OFAC, UN, EU).
- Support the investigation of potential sanctions matches by gathering and analyzing relevant data.
- Maintain and update sanctions screening systems and databases to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement compliance policies and procedures.
- Prepare reports and documentation for internal audits and regulatory examinations.
- Monitor and research updates to global sanctions regulations to ensure UOB’s policies remain current.
- Participate in compliance training sessions and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Assist in the preparation of suspicious activity reports (SARs) where necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business, Economics, or a related field (recent graduates encouraged to apply).
- Basic understanding of banking operations, compliance, or financial regulations (internships or coursework in these areas is a plus).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and the ability to learn compliance software quickly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- High ethical standards and a commitment to confidentiality and integrity.
- Familiarity with AML, KYC, or sanctions compliance is advantageous but not required.
