Responsibility
- Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with local and international safety standards.
- Perform comprehensive HIRARC assessments to evaluate risks and implement effective control measures.
- Develop, review, and update safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans.
- Deliver safety training and awareness programs to employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to integrate safety protocols into daily operations.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, training sessions, and safety-related documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a safety officer role, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or a similar industry.
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of local safety regulations, HIRARC methodologies, and industry best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risks and implement solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and engage employees at all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
