Responsibility
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with inquiries, recommendations, and purchases.
- Operate the cash register, process transactions, and handle cash and digital payments accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment.
- Assist in inventory management, including stocking shelves, tracking inventory levels, and restocking products.
- Supervise and support junior staff (for Supervisor role), ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues professionally and efficiently.
- Promote bookstore events, memberships, and loyalty programs to enhance customer engagement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and retail standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; retail experience is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse customers.
- Basic math skills and experience handling cash transactions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic computer skills.
- Leadership skills and prior supervisory experience (for Supervisor role).
- Passion for books, reading, and customer service.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
