Responsibility
- Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival, creating a positive first impression.
- Manage reservations, walk-ins, and waitlists efficiently using restaurant management systems.
- Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table turnover and guest satisfaction.
- Answer phone and in-person inquiries about menus, reservations, and special requests.
- Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service and communication.
- Maintain a clean and organized front-of-house area, including the host stand and waiting area.
- Assist with special events, private dining, and large group bookings as needed.
- Handle guest complaints or concerns with empathy and professionalism, escalating issues when necessary.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a customer service or hospitality role, preferably as a host/hostess.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with reservation systems (e.g., OpenTable, Resy) is a plus.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Impeccable personal presentation and adherence to grooming standards.
- Basic knowledge of restaurant operations and dining etiquette.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light objects (e.g., menus, reservation books).
