Responsibility
- Monitor and maintain optimal temperature settings for reefer containers to ensure cargo integrity during transit.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of reefer units, documenting any discrepancies or maintenance needs.
- Coordinate with drivers, warehouse staff, and clients to ensure timely and compliant loading/unloading of temperature-sensitive goods.
- Troubleshoot reefer unit malfunctions and liaise with technical teams for repairs or replacements.
- Maintain accurate records of temperature logs, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities in compliance with industry regulations.
- Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cold chain logistics to minimize risks of spoilage or contamination.
- Collaborate with customs and regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to local and international cold chain transportation laws.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on proper handling, storage, and transportation protocols for reefer cargo.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in reefer logistics, cold chain management, or a related field.
- Strong technical knowledge of reefer container systems, including Carrier, Thermo King, or similar units.
- Familiarity with temperature-controlled cargo types (e.g., pharmaceuticals, perishables, chemicals).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in using logistics software, temperature monitoring tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certification in hazardous materials (HAZMAT) or cold chain logistics is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with diverse stakeholders.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays, as required by operational demands.
