Responsibility
- Perform professional grooming services, including bathing, trimming, clipping, and styling pets according to breed standards or owner preferences.
- Conduct health checks on pets, identifying skin conditions, parasites, or other issues, and advise pet owners on proper care.
- Manage grooming appointments, ensuring punctuality and a seamless experience for pets and their owners.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized grooming workspace, adhering to hygiene and safety protocols.
- Educate pet owners on grooming best practices, product recommendations, and at-home care tips.
- Handle pets with patience and care, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the grooming process.
- Collaborate with the retail team to promote grooming services and upsell related products (e.g., shampoos, brushes, and accessories).
- Stay updated on the latest grooming techniques, tools, and industry trends to provide cutting-edge services.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of professional pet grooming experience, preferably in a retail or salon setting.
- Certification from a recognized grooming school or institution (e.g., NDGAA, IPG, or equivalent) is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of different dog and cat breeds, their coat types, and grooming requirements.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to handle pets of all temperaments with patience, empathy, and confidence.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift pets weighing up to 20 kg.
- Familiarity with grooming tools and equipment (e.g., clippers, shears, dryers) and their maintenance.
