Responsibility

  • Lead and supervise a team of optometrists and support staff, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and hospital standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose vision disorders, and develop personalized treatment plans for patients of all ages.
  • Oversee the implementation of advanced diagnostic technologies, including retinal imaging, tonometry, and visual field testing.
  • Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated patient care, particularly for complex cases.
  • Develop and implement clinical policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance service quality and patient outcomes.
  • Manage the optometry department’s budget, resources, and inventory, ensuring cost-effective and efficient operations.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in optometry, incorporating evidence-based practices into clinical workflows.
  • Represent the hospital in community outreach programs, promoting eye health awareness and preventive care.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optometry from an accredited institution; additional certifications in specialized optometric fields are a plus.
  • Minimum of 8 years of clinical experience in optometry, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proven expertise in diagnosing and managing a wide range of ocular conditions, including refractive errors, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy.
  • Strong knowledge of optometric instruments and software, with the ability to train staff on new technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead teams and interact effectively with patients and stakeholders.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with the Indonesian Optometry Board or equivalent regulatory body.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with industry trends.
  • Experience in healthcare administration, budget management, or strategic planning is highly desirable.
