Responsibility
- Lead and supervise a team of optometrists and support staff, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and hospital standards.
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose vision disorders, and develop personalized treatment plans for patients of all ages.
- Oversee the implementation of advanced diagnostic technologies, including retinal imaging, tonometry, and visual field testing.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated patient care, particularly for complex cases.
- Develop and implement clinical policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance service quality and patient outcomes.
- Manage the optometry department’s budget, resources, and inventory, ensuring cost-effective and efficient operations.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in optometry, incorporating evidence-based practices into clinical workflows.
- Represent the hospital in community outreach programs, promoting eye health awareness and preventive care.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optometry from an accredited institution; additional certifications in specialized optometric fields are a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years of clinical experience in optometry, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Proven expertise in diagnosing and managing a wide range of ocular conditions, including refractive errors, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy.
- Strong knowledge of optometric instruments and software, with the ability to train staff on new technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead teams and interact effectively with patients and stakeholders.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the Indonesian Optometry Board or equivalent regulatory body.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with industry trends.
- Experience in healthcare administration, budget management, or strategic planning is highly desirable.
