Responsibility
- Operate and program NC/CNC machines, including EDM sinker machines (Sodick, GF AgieCharmilles) and precision grinding equipment, to produce high-tolerance components.
- Ensure parts meet strict dimensional tolerances of ±0.002mm or better, adhering to engineering specifications and quality standards.
- Perform in-process inspections using height gauges, micron-indicators, and optical comparators to verify accuracy and consistency.
- Set up, calibrate, and maintain machines, including tooling changes, fixture adjustments, and routine maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine machining requirements and sequences.
- Collaborate with engineers and quality control teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize processes, and implement continuous improvements.
- Document production data, including machine settings, inspection results, and any deviations, to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to 5S principles and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Machine Operator or CNC Machinist, with expertise in EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) or precision grinding.
- Proficiency in operating Mitsui, AMADA, Sodick, or GF AgieCharmilles machines is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.
- Experience with precision measurement tools, such as height gauges, micron-indicators, and optical comparators.
- Familiarity with NC/CNC programming (G-code) and machine setup procedures.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, defect-free components.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Basic computer skills for documenting production data and generating reports.
- Certification or vocational training in machining, tooling, or precision engineering is a plus.
