Responsibility
- Perform precision polishing, grinding, and finishing on tooling components to meet strict quality and surface finish specifications.
- Inspect tools and equipment for wear, damage, or defects, and perform preventive maintenance to extend their lifespan.
- Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot tooling issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Operate and maintain polishing machines, hand tools, and other specialized equipment in compliance with safety protocols.
- Document maintenance activities, tooling adjustments, and quality control checks in detailed reports.
- Calibrate and adjust tooling setups to ensure consistency and precision in manufacturing processes.
- Assist in the development and testing of new tooling designs or modifications to improve efficiency and product quality.
- Adhere to all workplace safety, environmental, and quality standards, including ISO and industry-specific regulations.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Polishing Technician, Tooling Technician, or in a similar role within manufacturing or precision engineering.
- Proven expertise in operating polishing machines, CNC equipment, or manual tooling systems.
- Strong understanding of metallurgy, surface finishing techniques, and quality control standards (e.g., Ra, Rz measurements).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail for high-precision tasks.
- Familiarity with safety protocols for handling sharp tools, chemicals, and heavy machinery.
- Basic computer skills for data entry, maintenance logs, and inventory management.
- Certification in machining, toolmaking, or a related field is a plus.
