Responsibility
- Assist surgeons and medical teams during surgical procedures, ensuring all equipment and instruments are prepared and functioning correctly.
- Maintain a sterile and safe environment in the operating theatre, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
- Monitor and care for patients before, during, and after surgery, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate and respond to any complications or emergencies during procedures.
- Document patient information, surgical procedures, and outcomes accurately and thoroughly.
- Educate patients and their families about pre- and post-operative care, ensuring they are well-informed and prepared.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training to stay updated with the latest advancements in surgical nursing.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients, helping to alleviate anxiety and ensure a positive experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification.
- Valid nursing license and registration with the relevant nursing board.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Operating Theatre Nurse or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and infection control practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care and maintaining professional standards.
