Responsibility
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments, arranging equipment, and ensuring all supplies are stocked and ready for procedures.
- Assist surgical teams in positioning patients, applying antiseptics, and draping sterile fields to maintain aseptic conditions.
- Hand instruments and supplies to surgeons and nurses during operations with accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitor and restock medical supplies, disposing of used materials according to infection control protocols.
- Transport patients to and from the operating theatre, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
- Clean and disinfect operating rooms post-procedure, adhering to strict hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to maintain clear communication and seamless workflow in high-pressure situations.
- Document inventory usage and report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to supervisors.
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; certification in healthcare assistance (e.g., Nursing Aide, OT Technician) is a plus.
- Prior experience in operating theatres, hospitals, or clinical settings is highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of sterilization techniques, infection control, and medical terminology.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift/move patients or equipment (up to 20kg).
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions under pressure.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Basic English proficiency (written and verbal) to communicate effectively with international teams.
