As a Material Planner, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials to support production schedules, minimize inventory costs, and enhance operational efficiency. Responsibility
- Develop and maintain accurate material demand forecasts based on production schedules and historical data.
- Coordinate with suppliers, procurement teams, and production planners to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to balance supply and demand, reducing excess stock and stockouts.
- Implement just-in-time (JIT) inventory strategies to optimize working capital and storage costs.
- Analyze supply chain risks and develop mitigation plans to prevent disruptions.
- Generate and present reports on material usage, lead times, and supplier performance to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve material planning processes and enhance efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in material planning, inventory management, or supply chain operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and demand planning tools is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a bonus.
