Responsibility
- Provide accurate and confidential interpretation services between Mandarin and English in medical settings, including hospitals, clinics, and telehealth sessions.
- Ensure clear and effective communication between healthcare providers and patients, maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of all information.
- Assist in translating medical documents, consent forms, and patient instructions as needed.
- Act as a cultural liaison, helping to bridge cultural differences and ensure patient understanding of medical procedures and treatments.
- Adhere to ethical standards and professional guidelines for medical interpretation, including HIPAA compliance.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to improve patient care and satisfaction through effective communication.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on medical terminology and interpretation best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of interpretation sessions and provide feedback to improve service quality.
Qualifications
- Fluency in both Mandarin and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
- Certification or formal training in medical interpretation is highly preferred.
- Previous experience in medical interpretation or a healthcare-related field is a plus.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology in both Mandarin and English.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure or sensitive situations.
