Responsibility
- Conduct microbiological testing and analysis of samples, including bacteria, fungi, and viruses, using standardized laboratory techniques.
- Assist in the development and implementation of infection control protocols and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of laboratory activities, test results, and experimental data in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Prepare and sterilize laboratory equipment, media, and reagents to ensure a contamination-free work environment.
- Collaborate with senior microbiologists and cross-functional teams to interpret data and contribute to research reports.
- Monitor and maintain laboratory inventory, including ordering supplies and ensuring proper storage of materials.
- Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in microbiology and infection control.
- Participate in quality assurance and quality control processes to uphold laboratory accreditation and certifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Biomedical Science, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with a strong foundation in microbiological techniques.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques, microbial identification, and basic molecular biology methods.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and biosafety levels (BSL-1/BSL-2).
- Proficient in using laboratory equipment such as microscopes, autoclaves, incubators, and PCR machines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting findings and presenting data.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
