Responsibility
- Manage and ensure compliance with indirect tax obligations (VAT, GST, sales tax, etc.) across multiple jurisdictions.
- Prepare and review tax filings, returns, and payments in accordance with local and international regulations.
- Conduct tax research and analysis to identify risks, opportunities, and optimization strategies for clients.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide tax advisory services and support business decisions.
- Monitor legislative changes and updates in indirect tax laws to ensure proactive compliance.
- Assist in tax audits, disputes, and negotiations with tax authorities as needed.
- Develop and maintain tax documentation, policies, and procedures for internal and client use.
- Provide training and guidance to junior team members on indirect tax matters.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in indirect tax compliance and advisory, preferably in a global or regional role.
- Strong technical knowledge of VAT, GST, sales tax, and other indirect tax regimes.
- Experience with tax software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Thomson Reuters).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while meeting deadlines.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a bonus.
- Familiarity with tax regulations in ASEAN or other key markets is advantageous.
